Study Abroad Grant

The Center of Academic Excellence in National Security Intelligence Studies program has funding from the Intelligence Community to provide grants for student that would like to study abroad. The purpose of the grant is to assist Wayne State students in gaining the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, and experiences necessary to meet the challenges of an increasingly interconnected and dynamic global environment. Preference will be given for:

  • Students that have a sincere interest in the intelligence field
  • Student selected for the Undergraduate Certificate in National Security Intelligence Studies program. Proposed programs sponsored by Wayne State University,
  • Programs affiliated with Wayne State University , and
  • Programs that grant academic credit.

The grant is for student study/internship programs outside of the U.S.   Award notification will occur approximately 2-4 weeks after submission of applicants. Please note that any grant awarded shall be awarded based upon the program applied for in this application. Once awarded the grants are not transferable to other programs. Awards will only be given to students applying for programs that have an instructional/internship component. Awards must be used in the allotted time.

  • Statement of willingness to provide service to the Center of Academic Excellence and National Security Intelligence Studies Program. Give us some idea of the contributions you might make to this effort.
  • Program brochure, flyer or description
  • Resume
  • An unofficial copy of your transcript
